🎬 What is Google Vids?

Google Vids is an all-in-one video creation app that lives in your web browser. You don’t need to download software, buy expensive equipment, or have any previous editing experience.

  • AI-Powered: Use "Help me create" to turn a prompt or a Google Doc into a full video storyboard instantly.

  • No Experience Required: It uses a "scene-based" approach—if you can build a slideshow in Google Slides, you can build a video in Vids.

  • Long-form Content: Create videos up to 30 minutes long, perfect for deep-dive tutorials or school presentations.

🚀 How to Get Started (3 Easy Steps)

1. Create Your Project
Head to vids.google.com or type vids.new into your browser. You can start from scratch, use a pre-built template, or let AI do the heavy lifting by selecting "Help me create."

2. Add Content and Voiceovers
You don't even need to be on camera!
  • Stock Media: Access millions of royalty-free images and clips.

  • AI Voiceovers: Choose a digital voice to read your script, or record your own voice right in the app.

  • Recording Studio: Use the built-in screen recorder to show exactly what’s on your computer.

3. Share and Collaborate
Just like a Google Doc, you can share your video with others to edit together in real-time. When you’re finished, you can export the video to your Google Drive or download it as an MP4.

💡 Quick Tips for Success

  • Use your existing files: Type @ when prompting the AI to pull in information from your existing Google Docs or Slides.
  • Browser-Based: Remember, everything is autosaved in the cloud. You can start on one computer and finish on another.
  • Collaborate: Students can work together on the same video timeline simultaneously—no more emailing huge video files back and forth!
