Program Goals

1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.

2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

How WATCH D.O.G.S. ® Works

WATCH D.O.G.S. ®, is a national K-12 program which invites fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or other father figures to volunteer at least one day at their child’s/student's school during the school year. Individuals can sign up for a particular day(s) through the year. We are focusing on the lunch recess times between 11:30 - 1:15. Watch DOG volunteers will be asked to play with the students while they are at recess, organize games and promote good sportsmanship. Volunteers will not be alone with kids, nor will they be asked to do anything they are not comfortable with. We want this to be a positive and bonding experience for you and your child. Overall, your role is to have encouraging interactions with students and be a positive role model for kids at Valley View.

How to become involved in WATCH D.O.G.S. at Valley View?

If interested, you must complete a volunteer registration form which can be obtained from Mrs. Ross in the main office. All volunteers at Valley View are required to complete this form and have their background checked to ensure the safety of all students & staff. Once this is done and Mr. Moffat has signed off on the application, you are welcomed to sign up for any day you would like to volunteer.

All participants will be given a WATCH D.O.G.S. T-SHIRT to wear during the day.
